Accessibility; how many who don’t have a disability often really think about this aspect of life. Especially when you don’t get parking and you see this sign, it is not allways a great feeling. I am not saying that people are insensitive; it is just a human nature that we see things the way it affects us and not really always look deep into what we see. When I grew up accessibility was never an aspect that people gave attention to. I am not sure if they even had something like that, the sign itself was missing I guess. The only place I really remember was the front seats in public buses where two or three seats were reserved. Otherwise accessibility was never a social solution to a need but a private affair of caring by the near and dear. Though in my recent visits to my hometown, I had seen tremendous improvement in how society approches accessibility needs, but there si always room for improvement.
I think many parts of the world used to be like this and some even continue to be this way. It is so horrifying to think that there were even very insensitive communication slangs that one would use to call someone referring to their disability which when you look back now is quite inhuman. My whole understanding and approach to the aspect of accessibility changed when I came to the US where I saw a strong public and government effort and reasoning to address the accessibility needs for every kind of disability. From wheel chair entrances over stair cases to automatic doors to parking privileges to shopping carts, there was a considerate effort to ensure equal participation and opportunity for everyone. It does not matter how small the number is or how much the need is, if there is a way to provide accessibility it should be done and interestingly more and more businesses and work places follow this and some even go beyond the legally stipulated instructions to address this in a much larger context.

Accessibility Signs tell you that you live in a caring society
To be independent has been the goal of every man and women, be it financially or emotionally, but the facts are far from that and we turn out to be both emotionally and financially dependent on others and the system. Not just financial and emotional dependence, but also technology, processes, situations, lifestyle. We are a bunch of closely held ‘Can’t exist alone’ group of life forms. Yet we labor on the delusion that we are better than the one next to us.
Our arrogance makes us not care for the person next and looks at him with despise when he leans on you. You never see your hand resting on another person’s sholder; you don’t see your mind being dependent on someone who lives thousands of miles away. You will be too annoyed to know that any problem anyone in this world faces is indirectly affecting you, your life, your loved one. You can never be independent if you want to live on this earth and I am not sure of any forms of life anywhere else. So mate if you think you are really independent, mate you are on for as big surprise somewhere round the corner.

Live as if you are dependent on people and things around you
Why don’t you see it from my side? Yes Really, Why don’t you see it from my side? Be it work or family the problem is the inability to see from both sides. The fact that you belong to one side and you have to safeguard your side makes you so incapably closed to other person’s situation. There is another term called “step back and analyze” where you take a step back so the other side is not in your blind spot and you are able to really understand what the other person is trying to tell you. Or to understand what the story on the other side is.
The truth is that every side has a story that they firmly believe in. It is also true that both sides need not necessarily be Continue reading
Fashion is a big market, and there are people who follow it as well as those who don’t follow it. Fashion is often connected with the rich, famous and the high profiled, but the industry survives only because the masses enroll. There are trend setters and then they are people who recognize trends and capitalize on it. How much of fashion do you need to be termed fashionable?
Fashion is when something picks a mass appeal and if you consider you as an individual you can either pick what the masses pick, or you can create what you like. Individual styles might or might not become fashions, but they will definitely define who you are, Hair styles, dressing sense, talking styles and more. If you have a style, it is not necessary that you will be aware of it and when you change it any time, people notice it. This is because people create a mental frame of you and they are disturbed when that frame changes, even if you had moved from a faked style to an original one.
When you are hitting forty, one thing that you would have accumulated over the years is an array of styles about yourself. Some of these might have glimpses of the fashion both prevailing and other nonexistent ancient fashion that got stuck with you as you grew. This will also be a good time for you to explore your styles and polish it for your future. This includes every small detail of yours. In a way the whole idea of this site is to get that styling done. A styling of not just your exterior but also your interior.
You don’t have to be bothered about the mass appeal of your style for that is not the aim. The idea is to self define a style in which you exist and makes it easier for people to connect with you. Elevating you from a follower to a distinct element that can be identified from a crowd, and you will be unique as you will be styled based on who you are and what you have acquired. The time is ripe for adding the fluff to the foundation you have erected. The time can’t be better for you to stand up and say who you are and what you bring to the table.

Style Yourself Today!
A day ago I crossed my fiftieth post on my 100 days to 40. It feels good and over the fifty odd days I have touched on many things that matter to me and how it would matter to me in the future. I am also overwhelmed by the response I got from people unknown as well as friends and family who visit this site. I am still not sure how this site will pan out, but I know that I am having fun writing it
I was never a guy who was into writing, leave alone the thought that I would sometimes have my blog. I have never ever participated in a writing competition in my school days. This was never something I loved, till I found someone I loved and since she blogged I too started writing primarily for her and then kind of got hooked into this. So if this site pans out as something, big you should know the credit goes to someone else in my life.
My take is that if I can write anyone can write, and more than the ability to write it is your interest to write and your want to be a story teller. I think it is important for everyone to pen in their thoughts without the expectation that it should be read. Though I have to admit that I love when I know people read what I write, but I feel if you are not bothered by who reads, you will not be influenced by what people say. I think it would be great to pick your next birth day date and start a blog celebrating it and pen a few words every day. It is a very rewarding experience and please feel free to email me to get started. I am more than happy to help you and again free of cost. May be I will have one day dedicated to telling you all how to do it.
When you write about something, you are doing a great favor to the world of letters by adding your unique thoughts and opinions. Your footprints could be the one that would show many a way to walk. So I urge you all to write, there are many who will read it, there are many who will love it and there is a lot to learn from the ones who hate what you write. Keep writing

If you don’t write, Start Writing!
I am not a spiritual person and have never been one in my life, but the thought of spirituality without the existence of a supreme intelligence was too hard to ignore. If you love theories and philosophies, you will love this exploration. Though I found much of the spiritual aspects very rigid and impractical for a guy like me, I always loved the concept of the inner self and self exploration. Especially the ideas that one needs to question what he does not believe and that one should find his own answers.
When there are unknowns you can have so much fun explaining it and this goes same with scientists and philosophers. But for a common guy like me there lies a fuzzy area between practical life and the pursuit of truth that bewilders me. How does the ‘bills to pay’ reality and the ultimate truth be different for a common man. For the common guy the bills to pay and his pay check are the ultimate truths and realities and he does not find a reason to pursue a truth beyond that that he does not know about. He is not interested in adding up more unknowns into his life where the knowns themselves are quite burdening.
That being said, creating a love for debates between different schools of thought about the mysteries of human existence both as a mere spectator and as a participant is important. Accepting the ‘bills to pay’ reality with the awareness that the debates you participate won’t ‘pay your bills’, help you embark on a journey that could be looked more as one towards completeness of mind and body. From what I have been grasping from my life and what I have read this completeness is never about filling but all about emptying. Being able to reach a state of emptiness from which anything and everything can emerge and grow is the end of the cycle and that cycle is what we get to understand by searching for answers. I don’t know if this cycle has the existence of a supreme being, but the search obviously does not need one. In my opinion, the moment you create the supreme existence your pursuit fails its relevance.
Bills will get paid or will remain unpaid, time in the current form will end sometime in the future, many questions will remain unanswered, and many will never be asked. Yet individually everyone can reach their state of emptiness and completeness irrespective of one’s beliefs. Completeness is the convergence and assimilation of two parallel realities, your bills to pay’ reality and the unknown reality that you should pursue to uncover.

Look at life, Beyond the bills to Pay!
I have nothing much to say today and so I thought I will write a poem and here you go..
I have nothing to say today
Seems all have been told
Not by me, but someone else before me
For my mind is silent and relaxed today
I sometimes wonder why I should write
Though I can still sound them out
What difference does it make
If I write, talk or shout…
Words spoken will get washed in time
But written words remain forever
Staining or decorating the pathways of time
So I write. Crap or worthy for readers to judge
If you know a word, write it down
Then learn another and write that down
Link them up together another day
See the meaning blossoming next
I too wrote a word the other day
Another one I penned yesterday
Today I linked them up for you
And it now calls out “LOVE YOU”

Sit Down Today and Write a Poem! Please…!
Chronicling the 100 days to hit forty is to look back on those years that I remember and in the process see what was important and also look at what should be important moving forward. The whole idea is to create a style for the years ahead.
It is said that everything happens for a reason and if you have a choice better exercise. it. Will this count down transform me and my life, I don’t know. But it will give me 100 things to look back and evaluate. See what were the things I wrote when forced to write a post a day for 100 days in a row as I step into my forties.
Why is this project important. Because there are thousands and probably millions who will turn 40 by the end of the year and they all are stepping into that pivotal position where they need to create their own style of life.
This is my attempt in styling mine…
