The Nonsensical King and the Commissioner

the-king-and-the-commissionerIt should be true that you have to pay for every sin you commit, in this life itself, nothing is taken forward after death. I paid a part of my dues by watching the Malayalam Movie “The King and the Commissioner” last Thursday which was bringing together the characters of two successful movies from the past “The King” by Mammootty and “The Commissioner” By Suresh Gopi.

Since both the previous movies had released more than a decade ago, they could have at least shown the characters slightly aged. Not that it would have made any difference to one of the weakest story lines, it would have at least made you feel better. But then thats why sometimes making and watching movies is a gamble.

May be I am getting old, the same hands that clapped when both the heroes delivered 5 minutes long dialogues coated with heavy english words today just folded fists unable to stand the trauma.

But the the cult following of the old movies will still make people watch it in theatre or on DVD and I might be right when many would feel the same way I do. Though I should say it took me back to my life in the nineties when I watched the movies predecessors in my home town, which was a good feeling.

Anything that takes you back home is good even if it is one of the most nonsensical movie I have seen in recent times 🙂
