I think it is the time for simple movies to take the reign of the film industry. Bold and never thought out themes being played out by new talents bring so much good feeling to the film goer.

Vick Donor is a simple movie that has quite an unusual story line, the story of a sperm donor. The lead is played well by Ayushmann Khurrana whom I don’t remember seeing in any other movie. The role is not a very demanding one but that of a happy go lucky guy which I guess a charming guy with some acting talent could have done well. Not demeaning Ayushmann’s effort, but there is nothing more than what he did that he could have done to make it better. So his real test would be the next movies that he might get.

But the makers of the movie did not want the movie just like any other new comer movie and they did add a decisive piece into the equation Annu Kapoor whose fan I have been since seeing him first in the TV serials. Bringing Annu Kapoor in an important role was indeed a very right choice.

I should say the trailer was also well done and that was one reason (along with the presence of Annu) that we decided to watch it. Apparently this is also the first production attempt of John Abraham. John good thought out investment 🙂

Yami Gautam who acts as the lead lady in the movie gives much glamor to the movie with her good looks and nice performance because we have seen many good looking babes who struggle to bring emotions on their face. Some even become successfull like our very own Katrina Kaif. Anyway if the industry accepts Yami can do more good roles and show her acting caliber.

For those who want to watch a simple movie and take home some laughs then this might be a good time to spend. Honestly I loved it much more than last week’s Houseful 2 that boasted a whole bus of known actors and was more money shed on a weak story.

Vicky Donor does not have any vulgarity, but I am not sure if kids could watch because of the theme and the duties that one knows need to be performed to be a sperm donor 🙂
