Ferrari Ki Sawaari – The Father’s Day Movie

Ferrari-Ki-Sawaari-MovieFerrari Ki Sawaari was a much awaited film at least in our family and for obvious reasons, we are all fans of Sharman Joshi and Boman even before they teamed up in 3 idiots. We have been watching sharman movies from his early 2000s entry and seen him take up comedy, serious and even negative roles with such ease.

Boman obviously has been all over the Bollywood film industry since the late 90s I guess or more prominently since 2000. And now Boman has become a core ingredient in many movies and always a treat to watch.

We went to watch the movie, all of us as a family for this Father’s day. And the movie is apt for a Father’s day movie as it portrays the Father Son relation pretty well. Now if our expectations were met?, The answer at least for me is that it could have been better.

The characters and the actors who played them were all a treat, but for some reason the story in my opinion was weak. There are many instances when you are unsure if you should focus on the Ferrari theme or the Cricket theme in the movie.

There were some new faces and some not much seen faces, and faces unknown to be all playing important characters and they did it extremely well. But the end of the day  the question is if the expectation was met. I might have written “Go and See” reviews of movies that are critically a disaster, but it is again how expectations are set. Here my expectations were too high I guess..

It is said that the movie took a long time to make and during this time Sharman had not signed up for any other movie and focussing on this one alone, which in my opinion is a tough choice and I hope the movie does well in box office as well. Sharman is such a fine actor and I would love to see more of him in movies.

The kid who acted Sharman’s son also did a fine job and very convincing as Sharman’s son. Keeping my expectations aside, I would recommend this as a movie to watch with family, Kids will like it and you will love it watching with the kids. But don’t watch it like you are watching a sequel of 3 idiots…

  1. Hi Vinod,

We too saw this movie as a family treat on Father’s Day!
Enjoyed the movie although I do agree that the story could have been stronger.

The main thing was that we all enjoyed it as a family.
