Mothers of War

Mothers on this side
mothers on that side
loosing their sons
to dirty wars
wounded on this side
wounded on that side
wounded in heart
on every side
No animosity, No anger
Just tears and hope
that it will end some day
When the gunshots stop
and silence descends
hushed up wails
that break open walls
mothers who learned
to cry in silence,
Sons and daughters –
whose fathers lost
Widowed women
buried in sorrow
Scenes of battles
tales of loses
No one wins,
No one remembers
everyone loses
bit by bit
wounded on this side
wounded on that side
wounded in heart
on every side

  1. As a father I absolutely refused to trade my son’s life for oil when bush 2 invaded Iraq. The way I see it if our leaders want to go to war as bush did then their son’s and daughter’s should be on the front lines.
