Kahaani is already being reviewed as a good movie, Celebrity tweeters and common men all have in one voice said it is a nice thriller. More than the Thriller I liked the movie for being fast paced and much shorter that usual Bollywood flicks and that it did not unnecessarily drag even a bit. The ace effort was some good casting and characters in the story.
Vidya Balan fit perfectly well into the role and I guess her first role in Parineetha that gave her a Kolkata touch was useful here in the Kolkata setting though she is not a bengali in this movie. These are small things that mass connect and most times very subtly without themselves knowing.
Vidya Balan was the most known character and there were several other unseen and less seen faces that did remarkably well and here are three central characters who contributed to the good flow in the movie.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui – The good rogue Khan in Kahaani
The role of Khan done by Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nice and noticeable for him as an actor. Every actor gets a notable character in a movie but it works in their favor faster when that movie fares well as well and I guess Kahaani could be Nawaz’s ticket to better roles.
Parambrata Chatterjee as the Lovable Cop
We see a lot of movies with cops and rarely we see a lovable cop, a guy who kind of has a khaki but his heart rests on the streets with the common man. A new comer into the force who has still not alienated him self from who really is. He has a done a good job
Saswata Chatterjee as the Contract Killer
Saswata’s character was excellent as the unassuming contract killer. He clearly played the contrasting role of the cold blooded killer and the outer face of the common man who is innocent and gullible. Would love to see him more in Bollywood.
Even many other small roles in the movie by the helper kid, Guesthouse keeper and supporting police staff all were done well
Over all the movie was good and keeps you feel good through out and even after the end of the movie
