The Malayalam Movie “EE Adutha Kalathu” “In recent times” penned by Murali Gopy son of the legendary malayalam actor “Bharat Gopi is an interesting movie. Murali also takes up a major role in the movie. Seeing him after Blessy’s Bhramaram in which he had an important role to play.
The movie is fast paced and it is said to be the first independent film. The performances are good by all the actors especially Indrajith who is far far ahead as an actor from his younger brother Prithviraj. The movies also show cases the unlimited talent of a much smaller canvas than lal, mamootty, Dileep and Pritviraj.
It is a well crafted movie and even some of the new comers did a good job and of course Anoop Menon who always does a fair job how ever small his role might be. Same goes here as well.
The main reason for me to go and watch the movie however was Murali Gopi. Not that I know him much to be a fan of his movie, but because he is Gopi’s son. And he does not disappoint you. He has done a good job and I think I would love to see more of him on screen again.
The Director Arun Kumar Aravind has also done an excellent job. I had heard about his earlier movie cocktail though I had not seen it, but this movie surely makes me want to watch cocktail sometime.
Again Murali Gopy’s story and screenplay is too good. It is so refreshing to see a movie that does not give one single character all the screen time. You feel more connected with the story rather than the characters and that is a good experience. The movie is not a big innovation or a trendsetter, like many other movies it also tells the story of a city where the lives of eight different people intersect. but the movie stands tall with a strong story line and script and some good performances.
