This weekend we had to catch up on the movies. Saw both last week’s release ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and this week’s release ‘Shirin, Farhad ki toh nikal padi’
My expectaions on Shirin and Farhad was a bit higher…The movie was good, funny…but I felt most of the funny sequences were already used up in the trailers. Nevertheless the movie was interested and it is always nice to watch Boman Irani effortlessly act.
Farah was ok and fit the role well but when it comes to acting it is not fair to compare her with Boman. So I would just say Farah was good but she might need to take more roles if she is really interested in acting….She anyway has it in her…so let us see….The theme however took me back to some older movies like Pestonji and Khatta Meetta…..beautifully told in a mumbai Parsi setting
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was also a pretty good movie…My expectations was as usual when one goes to watch a Salman movie….there will be action, romance, songs, locations etc…..And the move gave all that in abundance….
When his earlier movie Bodyguard gave a similar combination of action-romance..the spy thriller angle to the Tiger movie was a well glued in addition. Salman looks as age catching up on him…but that has not stopped him from looking tough and nice in the action sequences….Action is a major ingredient unlike how we see in the trailers….
Another interesting part in Tiger was that Kathrina was acceptable….You can stand her acting for a change….The action sequences were done extremely well…better and more elegantly that any other Bollywood heroine I have seen…. Even the places where her acting was needed she did it fine…..
In short…I would say both movies are worth the watch….Tiger wins over shirin and Farhad if you have to choose one for the theatre…..
