A Mirrored Window View

window-1479595_960_720It was a very strong wind that fell the leaf;
And it was a very cold winter as I remember.
The streets that were lonely at three in the afternoon,
became so busy when the clock struck seven in the evening

This End of Year I will buy two sets of dress
one that has red checks with yellow border
one will be plain white with blue lines on them
they will be a present to the first person –
who comes with holiday wishes

The coming summer next year I will repeat everything
except for leaving the house and wandering lost
I will stay back home and whisper to the walls
And I will let the candles burn and finish free

I know it sounds weird; a candle in summer
but from where I live afternoons are lonely
And nights are bustling
And I know windows never lie like mirrors do
