Catching up with Childhood – National Poetry Month 2016 – Day22

it tries hard to hold our hand and walk
but we are the adulthood, we know better
we shrug it away and run
the childhood stops behind and shouts out
“where are you running to?”
adulthood is a master of deception
deception of oneself more than others
it just shouts without looking back
“You slow me down, I am late, I gotta run”
But you know what, kids are smarter and faster
they catch up with you faster than you imagine
again the same things happens
childhood struggles to hold onto adulthood
again the shrugs and runs
over and over again till adulthood is tired
stops and gasps for breath, a few more left in this world
it looks back and sees where the childhood is
it is there a few steps away, but on the floor
gasping for its last breath
can see but cannot hold hand anymore
the final breathe count down happens as eyes meet eyes
telling a story of a whole life time,
no more to live, no more to relive
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1……Over
