OK… so I gave my resignation. Not today.. I gave it two weeks back and yesterday was my last day at work. Heading for a new adventure on Monday. Yes… A weekend and then anew onto a new role. I sent my farewell email with a Trey Parker quote..
“Saying goodbye doesn’t mean anything. It’s the time we spent together that matters, not how we left it.”
There is no Good or Bad in a ‘Bye’.
Every ‘bye’ kicks off a change. Something new for all of us. And change is inevitable for progress; for an individual, team or organization. Change is inevitable… We all get better (only) by getting better at embracing change.
As we agilists say… ‘Never a destination, always a Journey’
It was a well spent 14 months at Catalina Marketing. Meeting some amazing people during this lap of my journey. Many of who have become personal friends now. People who I can call at times and they will pick (or call back for sure) and I can have a five minutes chat and feel all rejuvenated. Yep real people with whom you can have real conversations.
People I work with mean a lot to me.
It is like the family outside the family. When you spend 1/3rd of your day together friendships go beyond organizational boundaries. For my new job, I had three of my former colleagues from Catalina give reference. Later I got a message that from my new company that those were`one of the most raving references they got. I cannot tell how how honored I am for that. Thank You all!!
We all have change flowing inside us that gets us closer to things we badly want. For me it was Education of Technology, The Technology of Education and Education in itself that has fascinated me for a very long time. So this new opportunity aligned a few of my passions into unison making decision easy. And I am excited like never before…
I am joining a Silicon Valley think tank that offers educational programs and a business incubator. Singularity University founded in 2008 by Peter Diamandis and Ray Kurzweil at the NASA Research Park in California focuses on scientific progress and “exponential” technologies…
Books are a great way to know things. So to know more on what my new company works on, start by reading three books. There is a lot you can contribute to what we do, even without working for us…. It is about Technology and an exponential and abundance mindset …
- ‘The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology’ by Ray Kurzweil
- ‘Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think’ by Peter Diamandis and
- ‘Exponential Organizations: Why new organizations are ten times better, faster, and cheaper than yours’ by Salim Ismail
More to come after I join… Stay Tuned….
