RaanjhanaaWatched Raanjhnaa during weekend… the motivation was to see Dhanush in the hindi movie and that I heard it was the story about JNU politics…. But what I saw was shades of Male chauvinism across the characters and their dialogues….. I watched the movie in flight as I was travelling to India last month…. Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock is Marvelous….. Samaantar – 2009 – Marathi movie by Amol Palekar

samaantarWatched Samaantar (parallel) a 2009 Marathi movie by Amol Palekar…. He also acts in the movie… for a long time at least in hindi I have not seen him on screen. And last time I experienced him behind screen was in Paheli in hindi… which for some reason did not give me a lot from Amol as a director…

But Samaantar is an interesting movie both from Amol as a director and from him as an actor that shows us that he still has that screen likability in him… Though his role is not exactly the next door guy of his younger ages.. the movie showcases the usual simplicity that is woven into his characters…
