One day the traffic lights got tired
day and night blinking like idiots
enough is enough they decided to quit
The red, green and yellow
all three got down the post
and crossed the road
They knew who moves and who stays
together they could make traffic
stop, slow or race through life
Well that’s all when they are on a post
part of a bigger scheme blinking in a pattern
Green, Yellow, Red; Green, Yellow, Red
Green, Yellow, Red
Not on a post; no relevance
They crossed; no one stopped; Got ran over
A final blink; Green, Yellow, Red
Silence….
