1/30 Today I Write – National Poetry Month 2018

Today I write;
clubbed by shattered dreams,
as broken pieces pierce time and space.

Today I write;
as the water stops flowing,
and wails emerge from dried up wells.

Today I write;
on a long road ahead,
with the exits, blocked and barricaded.

Today I write;
as someone will push the swing,
for a little boy who sits on it for eternity.

Today I write;
because the pen has been so adamant,
it will only shed tears where the ink has to word for the world.

Today I write;
because when you cannot push it further…
when you have to give up…
you can only write.

just write… just write….
so you can start thinking again,
to reimagine the world you live.

So Today I write…
