Where did you bury our freedom of speech?
Poets, artists, singers… they all hear a question inside them….
on whose side are you..? on whose side are you..?
and they answer…. their poems, songs, plays, documentaries…
they voice against atrocities, casteism, inequality,
farmer suicides, Malnutrition corruption, female infanticide…
They demand women be educated, be liberated… be free
Where did you bury our freedom of speech?
they show you the mirror you have been long avoiding
they live and fight for the rights of all our mothers
and yet you brand them illegal…?
But when a celebrity get caught keeping illegal weapons
You can’t stop your tears….
You remember their fictitious lovable characters… and
you cry, you protest, you blame….
Yesterday it was Aseem Trivedi…. Today it is Sheetal Sathe…..
