Accessibility is all about Equality in the opportunities to live

Accessibility; how many who don’t have a disability often really think about this aspect of life. Especially when you don’t get parking and you see this sign, it is not allways a great feeling. I am not saying that people are insensitive; it is just a human nature that we see things the way it affects us and not really always look deep into what … Continue reading Accessibility is all about Equality in the opportunities to live

The Dilemma of Celebrity Tweeters

When we have enough reality shows where celebrities face each other, the twitter paradigm has posed a new type of challenge for the celebrities. Not a competition but a dilemma that many celebrities who choose to tweet will face in the future. The power of social media has become so much ingrained into the lives of their fans and the fact that the tweeting exercise has given too much of a proximity with the stars, the fans might call the shots tomorrow.

Use Facebook and Don’t let it use you

With the news of Myspace layoffs, I wonder what will be next. This is a field that needs continuous innovation and the barriers of entry get smaller and smarter and one single company being able to hold on is a tough proposition. Sustainability in Kids

“Dad, what is sustainability?” She lifted her head from the book she was reading and looked at him.

“It is kind of complex and tough to understand” He said.

“You mean you don’t know?” She was pretty quick at that. He liked his little girl question him, but was also uneasy on feeling cornered.

She continued “It is ok if you don’t know everything. tell me what you know. Because in this book it says that many people are less aware of it” She showed the book she was reading.

He looked at the book. It was like any other usual kids book and it had a picture of earth and an article on how to take the first step on saving the planet. He went through it and he could understand what made his girl ask the question. There were more words in it than what her vocabulary and probably his too had not been equipped for.

He gave back the book to her and looked at her

Be Truthful, Be Transparent

“Transparency is not about seeing through something, it is all about they seeing through you”

The concept of transparency has become even more important in the current digital age. When you talk about transparency the first thing that comes into many minds is a glass or a tracing paper. This is quite true but holds only one side of the story, the story when we look into something.

But in new age the world looks into you. You are the transparent being, The social media in a way is a large eye or a array of a million eyes all staring at you, straight into you. And what do they see? They see everything that you say and they can parse through your words and view your actions.

You are in short stripped naked in front of the world.

Can low Twitter Following Make business sense?

The Answer is Yes…..

More twitter followers need not mean more Popular, though many wish to think the other way. We are not talking about celebrities, but the typical you and me who are known only to a few of our friends and their friends and now may be to a few hundreds, thanks to the arrival of the Social Media.

If you have thousands of followers and a 5% of the same number as the ones you are following, you are kind of popular. If you have thousands of almost equal number of followers and following, you are just shaking hands with a lot of folks without looking at their faces.

Is Anonymity on Internet important?

Today I watched the TED video by Christopher “moot” Poole the founder of 4chan, a controversial, uncensored online imageboard. The comments were also very interesting and I like to share some of the ‘for anonymity’ threads. It gives us (the reader) a peek into the darkest corners of human mind. It gives us a glimpse of how our culture is evolving (again as a reader) … Continue reading Is Anonymity on Internet important?
